Chartered Natural Health Therapist NZROHA
In Anne's Aromatherapy and Natural Therapy practice she treats people who come with a wide range of conditions. During her twenty years of practising and teaching she has come to realise that the vast majority of peoples' complaints are caused or aggravated by stress.
As an holistic therapist she uses aromatherapy essential oils to treat the entire person rather than just addressing symptoms. She considers the physical condition and emotional state and the way they approach life or events in their life, then selects the oils and makes these into blends to be used in a variety of ways, which will have positive psychological and emotional effects to soothe and balance both the mind and body. As part of a client's stress management programme they examine the events, attitudes and lifestyle contributing to their stress and she works in consultation to help them explore possibilities for change and ways to use Aromatherapy to maintain their health.
Over the years she has studied widely (Reflexology, Bach Flowers and Reiki to name a few) and has attended post graduate courses at the Bristol Cancer Centre, and with Shirley Price, Robert Tisserand and Jane Buckle in the UK, and at the Gawler Foundation in Australia.
Anne pioneered bringing Complementary Therapies into an orthodox medical area, working for Mid Central Health as a Natural Therapist for ten years. She teaches Aromatherapy and natural health, meditation, touch in palliative care, and massage during pregnancy and for babies and children. She enjoys sharing her knowledge so people can learn how to improve their well being.
She has a great interest in athletics through her husband (who was a top athlete and has had a distinguished career in international athletics administration,) in rowing, in plants and gardening, writing, speaking about natural therapies, and has interviewed on local radio other natural health therapist specialists.
